Parque Río Meléndez
DESCRIPCIÓN
Como parte de la recuperación de los corredores naturales de los ríos de Cali, la intervención se localiza en un tramo de un kilómetro del río Meléndez, a lo largo de la calle 3A entre carrera 98 y calle 1 BIS oeste. La intervención rescata urbanística y ambientalmente la franja izquierda del río mediante infraestructura de espacio público y restauración y siembra de árboles y arbustos. El resultado es un parque lineal que permite contemplar el río, su paisaje, flora y fauna, con senderos, cicloruta, plazoletas, mobiliario deportivo y recreativo, brindándole a la comunidad un espacio público de carácter natural que suma a la conectividad ecosistémica entre los Farallones y el río Cauca.
As part of the recovery of the natural corridors of the rivers of Cali, the intervention is located in a one-kilometer stretch of the Meléndez river, along 3A street between Carrera 98 and 1 BIS west street. The intervention rescues urban planning and environmentally the left bank of the river through infrastructure of public space and restoration and planting of trees and shrubs. The result is a linear park that allows you to contemplate the river, its landscape, flora and fauna, with paths, cycle paths, squares, sports and recreational furniture, providing the community with a natural public space that adds to the ecosystem connectivity between the Farallones and the Cauca river.

Como parte de la recuperación de los corredores naturales de los ríos de Cali, la intervención se localiza en un tramo de un kilómetro del río Meléndez, a lo largo de la calle 3A entre carrera 98 y calle 1 BIS oeste. La intervención rescata urbanística y ambientalmente la franja izquierda del río mediante infraestructura de espacio público y restauración y siembra de árboles y arbustos. El resultado es un parque lineal que permite contemplar el río, su paisaje, flora y fauna, con senderos, cicloruta, plazoletas, mobiliario deportivo y recreativo, brindándole a la comunidad un espacio público de carácter natural que suma a la conectividad ecosistémica entre los Farallones y el río Cauca.

ESTRATEGIAS BIOCLIMÁTICAS Y DE SOSTENIBILIDAD
Se enriqueció paisajísticamente el entorno con siembra de árboles nativos, la recuperación y mantenimiento de los existentes y la siembra de plantas que estimulen la presencia de aves, insectos y mamíferos polinizadores. Los trazados de senderos y cicloruta respetaron la totalidad de los árboles existentes. El mobiliario es de diseño anti vandálico y se empleó material de plástico reciclado. La comunidad hizo parte activa del proceso de diseño y construcción.
The landscape was enriched with the planting of native trees, the recovery and maintenance of existing ones and the planting of plants that stimulate the presence of birds, insects and pollinating mammals. The paths and cycle routes respected all the existing trees. The furniture is anti-vandalism design and recycled plastic material was used. The community was an active part of the design and construction process.
